Blood is human’s source of life, and those called are called heroes of the families they have helped.

Last December 14, 2022, the Rotary Clubs of Zone 5 – Rizal of District 3800 in partnership with the Assumption Specialty Hospital & Medical Center and Red Cross Rizal conducted a bloodletting activity.

A project in partnership with the Assumption Specialty Hospital and Medical Center, together with the Philippine National Red Cross and 8 other Clubs of Rizal Zone 5: Antipolo Centro, Antipolo East, Metro East Taytay, Cainta, Rizal Mideast, Taytay, East Rizal and Suburban East Rizal of Rotary District 3800, Rotaract Club of Antipolo Centro and the Army Reserve Command, the project aimed to help address the shortage in blood supply, especially in this lean month of December.

In concerted efforts, ASHMC provided the venue, conveniently located in the Hospital’s Main Lobby. The Rotary Clubs provided logistics support- e.g., meals and drinks for the volunteers and the blood donors alike.

The Red Cross did all the processes of extraction. This was a very successful feat which the same team forecasted to do a repeat in the Summer of 2023. Also present during the activity were ASHMC’s Chairman, Erwin Jerd Siatan, President, Evelyn Trazo, and the Officials from the Red Cross Rizal Chapter: Staff-in-Charge Mark Joy Santos, Medical Technician-QAO Sarah Joy Fullon and John Christina Reyes.
