In preparation for the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), PSA-Rizal’s Field Interviewers with Provincial Supervisor along with the delegates from other provinces participated in the Second Level Training hosted by the Regional Statistical Service Office – Calabarzon Region on April 4 to 26, 2022 at JET Hotel, Lipa City, Batangas the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Rizal Provincial Statistical Office has started the data collection process for the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS).
The 2022 NDHS is done every five years since 1968 and is the 12th in a series of national demographic surveys conducted by the PSA.
This undertaking focused on the collection of the following utmost data items: information on fertility levels, family planning, maternal and child health, child survival, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, domestic violence, and other health-related indicators in the country.
The data collected from the survey is beneficial to both national and regional levels in terms of the policy decision, planning, and monitoring and evaluation of programs on health mainly reproductive health.
The survey is set to interview about 354 households in the province of Rizal particularly the women ages 15 to 49 years old from the sampled households and utilizes the computer-aided personal interviewing system during data collection. Only authorized PSA interviewers will visit the sampled households and individuals to conduct the personal interview. The field operation is expected to be completed in 42 days from 02 May to 22 June.
The 2022 NDHS was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System, a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625. It is assisted technically by the United States Agency for International Development through ICF International under the Demographic and Health Survey Program.
In line with this, the PSA encourages households and women ages 15 to 49 years old to support the 2022 NDHS by providing accurate and complete information.
