The Rotary Club of Antipolo Centro (RCAC) headed by its Imaginative Amazing Treasure President (IATP) Vellin Datuin-Collado, had its much-awaited and anticipated Governor’s Visit with its Rotary International District 3800 (RID3800) Governor, Arturo “Bobby” Tanyag last December 3, 2022.
It was held at the events hall of the Skills Power Institute Antipolo that had served as the club’s office since 1995.
The said visit was enjoined by the members of the RID3800 Team: Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Chairman Past President Gina Sanchez, Senior Assistant Governor Larry Secreto, Assistant Governor Danny Guevara, District Secretaries Noel Cuico and Sherrylou Khosiking, and the officials and club directors of the RCAC.
Despite the club’s challenge in funding, IATP Vellin was able to impress and uplift the club by reporting fifty-five (55) Service Projects and counting, for its first five months, garnering the club’s rating of 5/5 stars.
Other projects yet to be conducted by the club in the next six months of this Rotary Year are Project Liwanag sa Dilim for Cupang Elementary School (Annex), Project UMA (Umasenso, Umabante, Umayos) for the Dumagat Tribe in Sitio Paglitaw in Brgy. Calawis, and Project Bakod for Purok Mainit in Sitio San Josef, Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo City.
The visit was followed by the club’s “The Great Gatsby-themed” 27th Induction and 26th Handover Ceremonies from their Immediate Past President Dr. Wilfredo P. Mariño of the University of Rizal System Antipolo Campus to their Imaginative Amazing Treasure President (IATP) Vellin Datuin-Collado from the Department of Budget and Management Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office.
To date, the club has an active membership of 25 professionals from various industries, especially coming from the Department of Education Schools Division of Antipolo City, and has gained an additional 10 new members inducted on the same date by RID3800 Imaginative Amazing Treasure District Governor Arturo “Bobby” Tanyag, making the club thirty-five (35) strong, willing and believing that the “Rotary is opening doors for a world that deserves our best and we need to harness our connections, to deepen these relationships and create new partnerships that can happen at every level of leadership.”
As the Rotary International’s first lady President said: “We are not just ROTARIANS, we are ANGELS without wings on Earth,” and we do SERVICE ABOVE SELF.” #ImagineRotary #BeImaginative
