The United Nations Celebrations 2022, organized by Frames of Mind School and Antipolo Homeschoolers, was held October 28, 2022 at the 2nd floor Activity Center of WalterMart Antipolo, Lorenzo Sumulong Memorial Circle, Antipolo City.
Homeschooled children and their parents from all over Rizal Province participated in the event which celebrated the birth of the United Nations as well as its important role in keeping the peace around the world after the devastation wrought by World War II.
The event started with the parade of children, wearing costumes representing the different countries of the world. The children, accompanied by their doting parents, paraded around the second floor area of WalterMart Antipolo to the delight of shoppers.
Mommy Anne Monteros, Program Coordinator of FMS/AHS, delivered the Welcome Remarks.
Frames of Mind School Principal Ma. Christina Mercado, Ed. D. gave the Special Message.
Mommy Tere Castro delivered the Closing Remarks.
Caitlin Nicole Palma was the Emcee.
The event was both a celebration – with games and a contest – as well as a learning experience for the children who were educated in diversity of the people, culture and customs around the world as well the all-important role played by the United Nations.
Grade 4 student Bella Raquid, who wore an inspired Indonesia themed ensemble, won the Best Costume award.
The brief event concluded with a fellowship, picture taking and snack time with food from generous sponsors including Shakey’s Pizza Parlor. Other sponsors/partners were AAAHON Bike Hub, Accessi Books and Antipolo STAR.
