Antipolo City Mayor-elect Jun Ynares talked about the importance of being vaccinated against COVID-19 during the Sabay Savaxx, Resbakuna event promoting booster shots against the virus at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.

Ynares also administered the vaccine on Barangay Health Workers during the event promoting full vaccination to prevent the spread of the virus.

A total of 69,037,072 Filipinos nationwide have been vaccinated with around 14 million administered with the first booster dose. The second booster shot is available for immunocompromised, health workers and senior citizens.

President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Bong Go, Secretary Vince Dizon, Mayor-elect Ben Abalos Sr., Mayor Menchie Abalos, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje and IATF and cabinet members were present during the event.

Cabotaje, who chairs the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), reminded the public to be vigilant and get sufficient protection against the risks of Covid-19 infections saying, “we are not yet out of the woods.”

Cabotaje said coronavirus remains “unpredictable” with the emergence of new variants and sub variants and that the public should not let their guard down.

She praised National Capital Region (NCR) local governments in taking the lead to “vaccinate as one.”

“Kapang-kapa na nila yung pagbabakuna at yung Covid response and of course, they are ably supported by their local health workers,” she said.
