The colossus that is Meta is apparently not invincible after all with Facebook, Instagram and Messenger going down for more than an hour.

Users suddenly found themselves logged out of the popular apps at 11:20 PM March 5, 2024 Philippine time and only able to get back about an hour later at around 12:25 AM March 6, 2024 Philippine time.

Those trying to get back on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger before then only received messages that they have been logged out leading to alarmed users fearing that accounts have been hacked.

The incident as well as the warnings led to widespread near-panic among users caused by unfounded fears that accounts had been hacked, and a variety of hash tags trending on X (Twitter).

Down Detector, a tracking website, showed vast outages at Instagram, Facebook and Messenger across the world.
