“Being in Nature strengthens my bond with the environment, I don’t want to pollute my playground.”

Marja Abad, Co-founder of Siargao Environmental Awareness Movement

With the existing accumulation of solid wastes in our locality, the situation is disturbing due to its effects on nearby watersheds, to the threat it poses to existing freshwater and marine habitats and livelihoods, and also to flood mitigation.

To aid with the implementation of the existing Ecological Solid Waste Management, our grassroots community will be extending our initiative through conducting “Dalus Law-ang: Malinis na kapaligiran Hatid sa Kinabukasang Kabataan” on February 25, at Dalig River (Sitio Tubigan), Brgy. Dalig, Antipolo City, Rizal.

As individuals begin to mobilize to keep solid wastes from our waters, the smallest act of concern pushes our lines forward.

The project’s goal is to bring together and mobilize various organizations and the youth for a clean-up drive imparting awareness on the issue of solid-waste pollution.
