The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) 1st CALABARZON (Calamba Laguna Batangas Rizal Quezon) Regional Skills Competition was launched at the Ynares Center, Sen. L. Sumulong Memorial Circle, Antipolo City, Rizal.
Former Antipolo City Mayor Andeng Ynares, representing Mayor Jun Ynares, delivered the Welcome Message while Rizal Province Vice Governor Junrey San Juan, representing Governor Nina Ynares, gave the Inspirational Message.
PD Ben-Hur Baniqued 2022 CALABARZON RSC Chairperson and TESDA Rizal Provincial Director gave an overview of the regional skills competition and presented the competitors and experts as well.
Dr. Lemuel Magracia, RTESDC Chair – speaking in behalf of DDG Aniceto Bertiz III Director General, TESDO – delivered the Inspirational Message.
Evangeline Plazo, Administrator RPTESDC Cainta acknowledged the participants, guest, competitors and trade experts.
Finally, RD Toni June Tamayo, CESO III, Regional Director TESDA IV-A (CALABARZON) led the ceremonial cutting of the chain and lighting of the torch and formally declared the opening of the RSC.
The skills competition will have 29 different trades from the Provincial Offices of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
Floristry will be held at The Penthouse Events Place of Emraud Square Plaza. Cooking and bakery will be held at PACE Technology and Arts, Emraud Square Plaza.
Other competitions are in 3D Digital Game Art, Autobody Repair, Automobile Technology, CNC Maintenance, CNC Milling, Cyber Security, Electrical Installations, and Electronics.
There will also be competition in Fashion Technology, Graphic Design Technology, Hairdressing, Heavy Vehicle Technology, Hotel Reception, Industrial Automation, Information Network Cabling, and Network Systems Administration.
Participants also will compete in IT Software Solution for Business, Landscaping Gardening, Mechanical Engineering CAD, Mechatronics, Patisserie and Confectionery, Plumbing and Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Restaurant Services, Web Technologies, and Welding.
The competition is held in partnership with the Association of Technical-Vocational Institutions of Rizal (ATVIR Inc.) and the Trainers and Assessors of Rizal Association (TARA Inc.).
TESDA Rizal already conducted two skills competition last April and May 2022.
The first was the Skills Competition for Trainers which showcased the competence of the TVET Trainers while the latter was for the TVET graduates to prepare and hone them for the Regional Skills Competition with high hopes of carrying them through up to the national level and to compete in the Philippine National Skills Competition and hopefully, in the much coveted ASEAN Skills competition to be hosted by Singapore in 2023.
