The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Rizal Provincial Statistical Office, in partnership with the Local Civil Registry Office and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Binangonan, awarded Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) in Security Papers (SECPAs) to forty-six (46) beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in Binangonan, Rizal.
The awarding was held May 10, 2024, at the Municipal Conference Room, Binangonan, Rizal.
National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, personally handed over the COLBs/SECPAs and congratulated each beneficiary for receiving their own vital document. Also present in the event were PSA IV-A Calabarzon Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, PSA-Rizal Chief Statistical Specialist Yra B. Sibug, Binangonan Municipal Mayor Cesar M. Ynares, Municipal Civil Registrar Maria Rona P. Roldan, and other officials/personnel of PSA-Rizal and LGU Binangonan.
The BRAP, in collaboration with the LGUs, aims to register unregistered births free of charge, covering the city/municipalities, especially those belonging to Indigenous Peoples, Muslims, and the poorest sectors in the country, resulting in an increase in the number of registered births nationwide.
