The Barangay San Jose Sangguniang Kabataan, led by SK Chairman Dok Monte Tolentino, held the 2nd SK Assembly and Distribution of Scholarship Allowance at San Jose National High School and Sitio Old Boso-Boso Multi-Purpose Building, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City.
Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares expressed his support and gratitude for the program and delivered an important recorded message.
To inspire the youthful beneficiaries, Tolentino, who recently passed the licensure examination for physicians, shared the difficulties he went through in trying to pass the difficult board examination.
“Hindi naman ako katalinuhang tao talaga. Pero tinyaga ko talaga yung board exam. Everyday aral lang ako ng aral,” said Tolentino who told the youth that the only way to success is through hard work and perseverance.
Mayor Ynares advised the scholarship beneficiaries to take advantage not just of the monetary assistance but more importantly of the trust and confidence granted them by the Barangay San Jose SK Council led by SK Chairman Monte Tolentino.
Good luck sa inyong lahat at mag-aral kayong mabuti. Makinig kayo sa inyong mga magulang,” said Mayor Ynares.
Councilor LJ Sumulong, Councilor Michael Leyva and Councilor Dok Ian Masangkay also graced the event and delivered important messages to the youth present.
The Malikhain Rondalla Ensemble provided captivating music while the San Jose National High School Maharlika Dance Group performed modern dance numbers to entertain the audience. Also present during the event were Barangay San Jose Kagawad Thess Mata, SK Kagawad Paolene Salvador, SK Kagawad Rosa Dado, SK Kagawad Shea Kate Ancheta, SK Kagawad Mikko Suarez, SK Kagawad Loriel Salazar, SK Secretary Jackzon Remondavia and San Jose SK Adviser Rey Rivera.
