A pioneer of the shift to biodegradable packaging in the Philippines, Personal Collection continues to initiate cleanup activities that aim to reduce plastic pollution in the country.
Following a year of significant transition from recyclable to biodegradable packaging, Personal Collection Direct Selling, Inc. makes good on its commitment to helping in nationwide plastic pollution reduction through monthly clean-up activities across the country.
Several teams of the company’s employees and dealers took a break from their daily grind and visited historic Hinulugang Taktak, not as tourists but as volunteers to clean up the trash at the national park in Antipolo, Rizal.
With efforts like this, Personal Collection hopes to set an example and inspire like-minded companies and individuals to participate in restoring the beauty of the remaining natural oases in the Philippines.
Together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Personal Collection conducted coastal clean-ups in Negros Oriental, Dumaguete, Quezon Province, Parañaque, Manila, Navotas and Malabon from October 2021 until last month, where tons of plastic waste and other toxic materials were collected.
The company has also planted over 70,000 mangroves in over 27.5 hectares of reforestation sites in Bataan and Pampanga last December 2021. In the same month, Personal Collection received a Certificate of appreciation from DENR for its invaluable work, strategic measures and active participation to advocate for environmental protection and sustainability amid the threats of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All these initiatives are part of the #GreenLifeGreatLife movement of Personal Collection, an environment-centric endeavor designed to make the world a better, safer place for everyone and for the generations to come. Upon its launch last June 2021, the Filipino-owned company introduced its flagship home care products in new biodegradable packaging, which is designed to naturally decompose in landfills within 5-10 years alone, 100% faster than regular plastic packaging which takes over a thousand years to break down and has been causing massive damage to marine life.
The products now available in environment-friendly packaging include its pioneer product Tuff TBC (Toilet Bowl Cleanser), Concentrated Fabric Conditioner and Tuff MSC (Multi-surface Cleaner). This year, Personal Collection aims to roll out more home care products as well as fragrance and personal care brands in biodegradable packaging with biodegradable formulation.
