The Department of Environment (DENR) CALABARZON Provincial Office for Laguna welcomes its new PENR Officer as the turn-over ceremony was conducted between outgoing PENR Officer Ronilo Salac to the incoming PENR Officer Eriberto Saños last January 14, 2022.
DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria started his message by congratulating the PENR Office of Laguna, as well as PENRO Salac, for accomplishing their targets for the year 2021. He also commended the efforts and initiatives of the outgoing PENRO for establishing numerous partnerships, conducting series of tree planting and growing activities, and the creation of the PENRO Laguna Satellite Office in Biñan, among others.
“We are aiming to improve organizational responsiveness with a strategic assignment of officials”, RED Nilo disclosed. This is also an effort to revisit the Agency’s organizational structure to complement the human resources with the improved asset management in the Agency. “This is to ensure the health and safety of our employees and the general public needing our services”, he added.
Moreover, incoming PENRO Saños values individuality, teamwork, and collaborative effort, “maliit o malaki, mababa o mataas ang tungkulin mo, tayo ay laging kabahagi ng kabuuan”. He challenges PENRO Laguna to decrease the environmental related cases in the province and uphold the respect and trust from the public. “Iisa po ang ating bayan na pinaglilingkuran, kaya tayo po ay magtulong tulong. Ang tulong po, kahit maliit o malaki, ay kung pag sasama samahin ay iyon po ay isang malaking pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan”, he emphasized.
Saños is a licensed Forester and has spent 36 years in government service. He is a Career Executive Service eligible and has served as PENR Officer of Palawan, three (3) years prior to his new assignment. Pursuant to DENR Special Order No. 2022-16, Saños is designated as the new PENR Officer for Laguna. Meanwhile, PENRO Salac shall continue to report to the Office of the RED for his work assignment.
