Cassava products are an essential source of income for the farmers of the Organization of ARB Farmers of Inalsan, Inc. (OARBFII).
Last July 28-29, 2022, the Department of Science and Technology Rizal (DOST-Rizal), together with the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), conducted a two-day training on cassava flour processing for the OARBFII at the Shared Service Facility of the Sampaloc Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SARBMPC) in Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal.
Aside from enhancing the knowledge and skills of farmers on cassava flour processing, the training also explored other types of flour processing particularly on banana and squash.
Together with the OARBFII, the Pagkalinawan Nagsaca Farmers Association, Inc. also joined the activity. Bienvenido Flores, Jr, a Science Research Assistant from Industrial Technology Development Institute of DOST (DOST-ITDI), led the discussion which included topics on proper selection raw materials, packaging and storage.
