Kaya FC-Iloilo secured its second straight PFF Women’s League title after nipping a hard-fighting Makati FC side, 2-1, at the MoA Football Field.

Lyca Cuenco produced the championship-sealing goal in the 90+2 minute as Kaya used another stoppage time magic to emerge triumphant once more.

Kaya is actually level with Stallion Laguna FC at 23 points, but was able to win it all by virtue of superior goal difference.

Shela Cadag was on target early in the sixth minute to put Kaya FC ahead.

Makati FC equalized via Yona De La Calzada’s 81st minute strike, that gave Stallion hopes to win the title outright.

But Cuenco made sure that the crown will stay in Kaya.

Makati FC finished fourth with 16 points, three off debutants Capital1, which placed third and became one of major threats to Kaya and Stallion.

Captain Hali Long was named the tournament MVP, while Mexican forward Julissa Cisneros was the league’s top goalscorer with 13.

Up next for the PFF Women’s League is the Cup on September, where Stallion is the current holder.
