Kaya FC-Iloilo and Stallion Laguna FC battled to a 1-1 stalemate, leaving the PFF Women’s League championship race hanging in the balance Saturday night at the MoA Football Field.
Julissa Cisneros saved Kaya’s season with a stoppage time header, hiking the Mexican forward’s total to 13 goals.
Stallion was looking good after Chandler McDaniel broke the ice in the 63rd minute.
The trophy will stay in the box for now, and the league winner will be crowned this weekend.
Stallion remained on top of the league table with 23 points, three clear of Kaya’s 20.
While Stallion has already played its finale, Kaya still has a match in hand in Makati FC on Saturday.
A win over Makati FC will give Kaya the title, as it currently has a 35-20 goal differential over Stallion.
In the first match, Makati FC rallied from a goal down to beat Capital1, 2-1.
Despite the defeat, the Solar Spikers were able to finish third with 19 points, three ahead of Makati FC’s 16.
Angelica Teves scored the 13th minute opener, but Makati FC was able to rebound courtesy of Kawinthinda Kikuntod a minute after the restart and Gae Yumanda’s 72nd minute strike.
