The DOST-Quezon in partnership with the Sanitation and Safety Office of the Local Government Unit of San Francisco, Quezon conducted a seminar on Basic Food Safety Training for the primary food producers, processors and eatery owners around San Francisco at Municipal Covered Court, San Francisco, Quezon.

John Michael A. Florendo, SSRS and member of the DOST IVA Food Safety Team served as the resource speaker on Basic Food Hygiene and Food Safety Hazards. About 25 different food producers and processors attended the training, represented by its owners and food handlers.

Frank Robert Aguila, Sanitation Inspector of LGU San Francisco together with his team assisted in the facilitation of the training. The activity aims to capacitate the primary food handlers and eatery owners on hygienic food handling and preparation for the residents of San Francisco, Quezon. The improved knowledge on food safety can prevent foodborne illnesses especially in high population areas.
