Author Debbie Denise Golla released a children’s book dedicated to the cultural heritage of Antipolo City’s Hinulugang Taktak Falls, “The Legends of Hinulugang Taktak”.

The book was formally released at the office of Antipolo Tourism Officer Marino Bacani May 29, 2023.

“History should be marked on books and so are folklore that come with it,” said Golla of her first book which is about the famous Hinulugang Taktak Falls and where she showcases her writings in Filipino and English.

She believes the legend about the rocky falls of the Hinulugang Taktak should be known to intermediate readers through her book.

“This small thought through extensive interview of Antipolo city’s elders brought forth cultural heritage and shed light to this book,” said Golla who envisioned a progressive future for Antipolo City without forgetting the past using children’s books as a tool to recall history.

Golla is currently working on a second folklore, legend of the Birhen Maria and the Tipolo. She is studying Doctor of Philosophy Major in English Language Studies at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila.
