Yes, you can eat healthy but still enjoy Samgyupsal.

Ria Rivera and Kevin Baltazar – a lovely couple who are in their mid 20s – opened the newest and hottest Samgyupsal in Padilla, Antipolo City for people who want to enjoy Samgyupsal while still staying healthy.

“Appa Samgyup is a Korean inspired restaurant that offers a healthier variant for unlimited samgyupsal” Ria (first mention ng name, full name; subsequent mention surname or first name na lang) said.

The pair both love Samgyupsal. But at the same time they are health conscious and watch what they eat.

“Our goal is to provide a safe place for the everyone in the community, family, barkada and pati mga single. You are very welcome here in Appa Samgyup. Our inspiration is of course yung healthy options, healthy diet, with my partner Ria. Dun namin na conceptualize ng Samgyupsal dito sa Padilla, Antipolo,” said Kevin.

The couple are actually Keto fans themselves. This led them to come up with the idea of starting their own samgyup business with keto friendly food on their menu.

“Yung idea na ito started while where doing Ketogenic diet and I realized ang dali pala mag keto if you’re eating Samgyup everyday. One time, nag-uusap kami ng boyfriend ko who is also the co-owner of Appa Samgyu. Sabi ko sa kanya, maganda sana if magkaroon ng Samgyupsal dito with a Ketogenic na options for people like me who are doing Ketogenic diet. So he said na maganda yung idea na yan, gawin natin. Tara magre-resign ako. Gawin natin yung idea mo. After a few months, eto na yun yung Appa Samgyup,” Ria said.

A sad story turned into an inspiration when Ria’s dog Appa passed away during the concept stage of their restaurant. In honor of her lovely dog, Kevin suggested to use the dog’s name to help Ria cope up with the situation.

“When we were conceptualizing this restaurant, nung malapit na kami mag start, iba yung name actually yung ipapangalan namin sa Restaurant. Then suddenly namatay yung aso ko and her name is Appa. Sabi sa akin nung partner ko why not yung restaurant ipangalan natin sa aso mo. Sabi ko sige, to help me move-on or cope with the situation. So we named it Appa Samgyup,” Ria said.
