Officers of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Antipolo attended the 31st South Luzon Area Business Conference at the Summit Ridge Hotel, Tagaytay City, Cavite.

President Bryant Kim An led the PCCI Antipolo delegation which included Claire Rivera, Melissa Linsangan, Queenie Alcantara, Greco Legaspi, Oliver Darvin, Jonnel Rivera, Cynthia Verdera-Vidal, Maria Liza Munoz Cabardo, Joanna Tagal, Jovelyn Tagal, AJ Cabarles and Gerry Alquiroz.

Plenary discussions during the first day included orienting the LCCIs and the private sector on local governance with focus on education and on the implications of the Mandanas ruling and discussion of the salient features of the LCCI manual.

PCCI Area Vice President for South Luzon Sallie Lacson welcomed delegates to the 31st South Luzon Area Business Conference. PCCI Vice President for Regional Affairs Engineer Eunina Mangio delivered the Opening Statement. PCCI Regional Governor, Region IV-A Romeo Race talked about “Private Sector Participation in Local Governance”.

The LCCI Manual contained directives on what makes a good LCCI; the importance of a permanent secretariat and permanent address; how to grow membership; resource and income generation; and relating with the government and the community.

Director, Bureau of Local Government, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Dr. Alberto Fenix Jr. was the resource speaker.

Plenary discussions during second day included addressing the supply chain bottlenecks in South Luzon, partnership opportunities for agri-sector development, emerging trends for south Luzon tourism, fast-tracking the recovery of MSMEs with the help of government support services and industrial development in south Luzon.
