Looks like J20 Sports Apparel is not only good at producing the best quality basketball uniforms and sports clothing, they’re also a very good basketball team. The team tallied five consecutive victories to lead Bracket A of the SK San Jose Open League.

With the COVID-19 pandemic starting to wind down the Barangay San Jose Sangguniang Panlungsod Council, led by SK Chairman Monte Tolentino, decided it was time to bring back sports in communities and launched the SK San Jose Open League basketball tournament.

Tournament Committee Head is Rey Rivera who said staging the tournament was a big challenge because of the pandemic. Rivera praised SK Chairman Tolentino for having the foresight to launch the tournament.

Rivera also thanked Barangay Chairman Boy Borja and Mayor Andeng Ynares for supporting Barangay San Jose Sangguniang Kabataan projects.

The tournament – held at the Multi-Purpose covered court of Robinsons Homes, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City – was organized in cooperation with Robinsons Homes.

Romyl Jornacion, head coach and owner of J20 Sports Apparel team, said they are happy to join the tournament to develop camaraderie and friendship among members of the community of Barangay San Jose.

“Gusto lang namin na maglaro ng maayos. Matapos natin ang liga ng walang napipilayan. Walang nagkakasakitan. Mga friendly games lang ito,” said Jornacion.

Participating teams include Bracket A: J20 Sports Apparel (5 wins, 0 loss), Don Jajnoks (4-1), Boss Jacque (2-3), Los Kantos (1-4), Team Puto (1-4) and Parugan (1-4). Bracket B: Admiral (4-1), Sta. Elena (4-1), Tomahawk (3-2), Legions (3-2), Dreadvast (2-3) and San Lorenzo (0-5).

Other members of the J20 Sports Apparel team are Indi Jacobe and Jay Nanlong assistant coaches with John Lucas trainer. Players include Karl Tuquib, Nikko Panganiban, Marse Rovi Velasco, Jonathan Velchez Vargas, Marlon Borre, Glen Angelo, Terrence Kyle Magbojo, OJ Bueno, Mike Orjalo and Louie Datario.

Jornacion said the J20 Sports Apparel team will also compete in TeamCourt Basketball League, Jornacion Basketball League, Picker Cup. Niabo League, Tenorio Cup and the K.SLN Basketball League. #KabataanAngBida
