Four laboratory staff of the DOST Cavite Water and Wastewater Testing Laboratory (CWWTL) completed the Certification Course for Drinking Water Sampler, facilitated online via the Zoom platform.

The Department of Health – National Reference Laboratory (DOH-NRL) conducted the one-day training covering lectures on standards for drinking-water quality, water sampling and evaluation results, and operational standards for water testing laboratories. DOH-NRL likewise tackled the Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water (PNSDW), consistent with the World Health Organization (WHO) frameworks for drinking-water safety. The DOST CWWTL is one of the government water testing laboratories compliant to the policy.

All four staff from the DOST CWWTL namely Ms. Verjo Angelie M. Sisante (Registered Chemist and Laboratory Head), Ms. Joan Mae B. Acacio (Registered Medical Technologists and Laboratory Analyst for Microbiological Testing), Ms. Thea Mary Joyce M. Diloy (Registered Chemical Technician and Laboratory Analyst for Physico-Chemical Testing) and Mr. Herbert Salas (Laboratory Staff) passed the post-lecture written examination, and were awarded with a Certificate of Proficiency by the DOH-NRL.

DOST CWWTL will continuously demonstrate its commitment in providing highest quality services in microbiological and chemical testing, and maintain its accreditation under PNS-ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
