The Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) met with the City Environment Waste Management Office (CEWMO) of Antipolo City to discuss ways to preserve the environment.

PAMB wants to ensure the delivery of ecological services and the maintenance of good biodiversity of ecosystems in protected areas like Hinulugang Taktak Protected Landscape and the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape.

PAMB also talked about the construction of Sewage Treatment Plants and the rehabilitation and planting of additional trees in the mentioned areas.

The Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) is composed of the Regional Executive Director, one representative for Autonomous Regional Government, at least one representative from Provincial and Municipal government, one representative from NGO.

PAMB performs an important role in ecotourism. Our protected areas provide the natural resource base for ecotourism development, it is necessary to provide the basic facilities and equipment that will cater not only the needs of the visitors but also needed to strengthen resource protection and minimize impact of visitor activities to the protected area.

A protected area is a clearly defined geographical space, recognized, dedicated and managed, through legal or other effective means, to achieve the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values.

Protected areas provide for life’s essentials. They protect natural resources that are critical to many people on earth. Within these areas, genetic diversity is permitted to evolve in response to natural selection pressures. These genetic resources are a source of many new products.
