CLARK FREEPORT— The Commission on Audit (COA) commended Clark Development Corporation (CDC) after inoculating more than 94,000 workers inside this Freeport under the government’s “Resbakuna” program.

“We commend the CDC management and employees for their prompt and proactive response in mitigating the effects of the COVID-19 in the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) and neighboring provinces through the effective implementation of the Clark COVID-19 Vaccination Program.”

According to CDC-Health and Sanitation Division (HSD) Manager Dr. Clemencita Dobles, the said figure accounts for 81% of the Freeport’s overall population, as of February 21, 2022.

With the vaccination supply provided by the Department of Health-Region 3 (DOH-R3), CDC is currently inoculating a total of 5,000 to 6,000 individuals per week. With adequate supply of vaccines, the state-owned firm intends to increase to a total of 8,000 to 10,000 vaccinated individuals per week.

Aside from its vaccination drive, CDC is already making efforts to ensure that fully vaccinated individuals will receive their Booster shots to increase protection from the virus.

Data from CDC-HSD also shows that Clark is one of the leading ecozones in the Philippines that have already administered booster shots. The state-run corporation said that about 35% of this Freeport’s population or 41,000 people were administered with booster shots.

Meanwhile, Dobles encouraged Clark workers to avail their booster shots to help strengthen their immunity against COVID-19 to lower the chances of severity leading to hospitalization.

In the coming days, CDC will coordinate with Clark locators to validate the vaccination status of employees and identify those who are in need of vaccination.

CDC launched its vaccination program in June of last year, initially facilitating vaccines to A1 priority group in Clark who are considered as front liners and medical workers.

The vax program then expanded to Metro Clark Local Government Units (LGUs) through the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” National COVID-19 Vaccination Days which was conducted in various vaccination sites in Clark.

Clark has more than 122,000 workers inside the Freeport. CDC also inoculated some residents here.        With the majority of the Clark population already vaccinated, CDC looks forward to achieving herd immunity among its residents and workers in order to shift to a lower Alert level status, attain economic recovery, and continue the developments inside the Freeport.
