Barriers are no longer required for motorcycle riders and back-riders living in the same house according to the JDF (Joint Task Force) COVID Shield starting Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

Barriers are still required for those who are not living in the same house according to Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, commander of the JTF COVID Shield.

Additionally, the back-rider must be an authorized person outside of residence and both rider and back-rider should wear face mask and full-face helmet.

The easing of restrictions was allowed after the National Task Force on COVID-19 headed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana approved the recommendation of the JTF COVID Shield to ease restrictions for people who live in the same residence.

The only requirement is to show proof that both rider and back-rider live in the same house.’

The eased rules apply to all areas under General Community Quarantine including Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna and Bulacan.
